Today, November 30th 2023, ChatGPT turns 1 year old. Having lived through the early days of the World Wide Web, Netscape Navigator, SGML, Napster, and other technologies I can accurately say I've never seen a technology emerge with such force to transform the work environment so quickly. I absolutely recognize that the hype is strong with this tech and I don't need or want all my tools (especially my MarCom tools) to be "powered by AI." Yet here we are.
As a pragmatic optimist, I continue to explore use cases with LLMs that improve my work life. I'm heartened to report I really embrace generative images from text and generative fill. I'm not sold on generative text for marketing copy or blog writing but I recognized that I might feel differently in another year (or maybe a couple months because time is an odd construct where AI is concerned).
Every week I hear stories from industry colleagues who harness generative AI in a meaningful way. I'd love to hear your experiments with tools that bring success to you personally or your organization. Leave a note in the comments about tools you use and would recommend.
